Oil Sands Reporting Calendar

Oil Sands Strategy and Operations (OSSO) has developed a reporting calendar  that encompasses OSR (Project and non-Project) reporting timelines for the following:

The purpose of the calendar is to provide a quick reference to Oil Sands filing deadline information.  Please note that inadvertent omissions of OSSO deadlines (from the calendar) do not consitute acceptable reasons for non-compliance with filing deadlines.

Note: The calendar has incorporated filing deadlines that fall on weekends and / or holidays by moving the affected deadlines to the next first business day.

Royalty Project Application Forms

Project Application: Lessees who have, or are pursuing, an oil sands project may apply for royalty treatment under the provisions of the Oil Sands Royalty Regulation, 2009. Projects that do not make an application under the Regulation and are not covered by an existing individual agreement or the Experimental Oil Sands Royalty Regulation will be subject to conventional royalty rates under the Petroleum Royalty Regulation.

Statement of Crown Royalty Inventory Volumes

One-time only filing for applicable Oil Sands Royalty (OSR) Projects due January 31, 2009.

Identify volumes of oil sands products that have crossed the Royalty Calculation Point (RCP) but were not disposed of as of December 31, 2008 (i.e., volumes where royalty has not been paid). Includes volumes used as line fill and in tankage.

Operator's Forecast Report

This report must be submitted for projects in both pre-payout periods and post-payout periods, due December 15. For more information, see Section 37 of the Regulation.
