Land use plan provides foundation for responsible development
Alberta’s population is growing faster than that of any other province. To sustain our quality of life—and to ensure that of future generations is as good or better—decisions need to consider what is healthy for the economy, the environment and society.
The Land-use Framework (LUF) sets out a new approach to managing our province's land and natural resources to achieve Alberta’s long-term economic, environmental and social goals. The LUF establishes seven new land-use regions and calls for the development of a regional plan for each.
Alberta Energy plays a significant role in supporting regional planning and implementation in order to achieve all of the desired outcomes for the Province of Alberta:
- Lower Athabasca (including lease cancellation compensation)
- Upper Athabasca
